Sony Xperia X series now available for pre-order in the US

Sony XPERIA X-27

When Sony introduced its new Xperia X series at MWC this year, it came with an understanding that its then-current flagship, the Xperia Z, was finally finished. A more recent report suggested that the Japanese OEM now plans to label all new phones under the X umbrella until 2018, though even that rumor has been seemingly disproved. Whatever the case may be, customers in the United States have been patiently waiting for their chance to purchase the new devices, and while the release is still a bit away, pre-orders are finally live.

Wrap Up

Sony XPERIA X (Bailey)-5

Given the high price point of the Xperia X Performance and Xperia X despite both arguably having some limitations – 3GB of RAM for example – it will remain to be seen just how well these devices can perform in the US market. That Samsung. LG, and HTC also have flagship products with similar pricing but arguably superior specs makes the purchase proposition that much more challenging for Sony, however it’s likely fans of the Japanese brand will stick to their roots.

What do you think? Are you up for a new Xperia X device?
