Selectable style: Moto G4 Plus & Moto G4 can be customized in Moto Maker (Brazil)

When Motorola unveiled its trio of Moto G devices earlier this week, fans of Moto Maker were given just a peek. Sadly the promotional pictures of copious collections of colors simply don’t have the same effect as say, designing the phone oneself. Interestingly enough, Motorola’s website in Brazil already has a fully functioning Moto Maker system online for the Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4. Take a look at one example:

It should be noted that the site is, naturally, in Portuguese, though it shouldn’t be too hard for those without knowledge of the language to figure out what’s what.

There are 8 different backing colors to select from, and 5 different camera rings; in the above screen capture we selected Blue and Pink, respectively for a slightly bubble gum-esque approach.

The stylings this year seem to be of a much more staid selection of colors, or at least would appear so given the smooth textured rear plate used in this year’s models when compared with the ridged one from the 2015 Moto G. Alternatively it could simply be a result of the ring-part being just a thin outline as opposed to the large plastic piece from that which graced the 3rd generation product. The white back (below) in particular almost seems to recall the Samsung Galaxy S4.

It is also worth noting that for some extra cash, you can purchase an additional rear cover (“Capas extras”) thus giving you two variations from the get-go.

Currently, it is not yet known when Motorola will begin to accept pre-orders – and Moto Maker customization – for these products in the USA. Given the company is reportedly planning an event next month, where the new Moto Z is likely to be unveiled, it’s possible the two product lines will be posted in a more simultaneous fashion. Or the G4 customization could go live tomorrow; the ball is in Motorola’s court.

What do you think? Does the Moto G4 look fashionable in its other color choices, or are you holding off on the device entirely?
