Seeing a Samsung product arrive first in South Korea comes with little surprise, however we are fairly certain that those outside of Korea will be hoping to get this same option soon. You see, the Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has launched. More important though, it launched with Jelly Bean as well as some extras.
And while Jelly Bean sounds like a good enough reason to get a little jealous, (something regular Galaxy Note 10.1 users have yet to get) there are apparently a few other goodies being included. You can expect Multi-Window support as well as Air View and Easy Clip. Multi-Window is similar to what we have recently seen with the Galaxy Note 2 and while that is certainly nice on a 5.5-inch display, we suspect it will be that much more welcomed on a 10.1-inch display. For those not familiar with the multi-window support, it is just that — being able to run multiple windows at the same time. What happens is they are split side-by-side on the display. And as a little bit of an additional teaser, Samsung did mention that they improved this a bit with this latest release.
Next up, support for VoLTE. This stands for Voice over LTE. What this allows you to do is to continue using a data connection when a voice calls comes in. Or vice versa, begin using a data connection while on a call. Again, this one should be more than welcomed on a tablet. After all, with a 10.1 inch display and taking the call (presumably) using a headset, many will feel the need to multi-task and what better thing to do then go online looking for information about what you are talking about.
Unfortunately, while this updated version of Jelly Bean has arrived with the three South Korean carriers, we have yet to see any details in terms of when it may come available for the international models Galaxy Note 10.1. Of course, VoLTE will not make nearly as much sense on the non-cellular connected Galaxy Note 10.1 Nonetheless, we suspect Galaxy Note 10.1 users will still be happy to get some news on Jelly Bean.
