Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 coming to Best Buy Canada

The Galaxy Note 10.1 might not be the “iPad killer” we’ve been waiting from Samsung for so long, but it’s still a rather decent 10-incher, no matter what some say. Backed by a very strong marketing campaign, the S Pen-enabled tab has been available in the States for almost a month now, garnering some attention from tech lovers with a creative side.

We’ve seen the Note 10.1 start selling in India, UK, as well as other select European countries these past few weeks, which is always a good sign for a fresh new gadget, but for some reason one major market has been kept in the dark by Sammy until now.

We’re talking of course about Canada, which usually follows the US swiftly, when talking about big-time gadget launches. In this particular case though, we’ve only recently seen a report about a possible pre-order start at Future Shop, which hasn’t proven accurate just yet.

Fortunately, Best Buy’s branch up North seems to have put Canadians out of their misery, listing the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 as “coming soon”. You can already pre-order the tab from the retailer, which is kind enough to also announce that the product “is scheduled to arrive in our warehouse on 09/26/2012”.

If my calendar is correct, September 26 is a Wednesday, which means that if you hurry up and place a pre-order right now, you could hope to get the GNote 10.1 as soon as Friday September 28. If not, you’ll probably have to wait until the next Monday, on October 1.

As far as pricing goes, BB Canada’s Note 10.1 is basically as cheap as it comes, going for $499.99 with 32 GB of on-board storage. The exact same version goes for around $550 at most US retailers, so it’s no wonder Best Buy is bragging that it’ll beat “any price anywhere”. Unfortunately, if you’re a little bit tight on cash and you fancy the 16 GB model of Sammy’s 10-incher, you might have to wait a bit longer. That version is nowhere to be found on Best Buy Canada’s website and Future Shop is also very secretive on the possibility of launching it anytime soon.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 on pre-order at Best Buy doesn’t come with any technical improvements or tweaks over its US counterpart, so you’ll get the same PLS TFT display with 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution, 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, 2 GB of RAM, dual 5 MP/1.9 MP cameras, and 7,000 mAh battery. It’s a Wi-Fi only version of course (we haven’t heard anything about that promised LTE-enabled model for a while), and it runs Android 4.0 ICS (for now, at least).

Who’s up for some S Pen goodness over in Canada? Are you disappointed with how late Sammy will be putting the tab up for grabs? Or is it never too late?
