This budget smartphone originally launched in China to serve as Samsung’s competition against brands like Xiaomi and Huawei. While its specs won’t wow anyone accustomed to a flagship handset, it actually brings a lot of bang for your buck. The Galaxy J3 first hit the US market back in January on Sprint’s network, and AT&T has announced that they will be getting the device as well come tomorrow.

So what exactly do you get when you fork over cash for one of these devices? Well, though it may look like a metal phone, that body is actually metallic looking plastic. The 5-inch display is of the 720p Super AMOLED variety and the processor is a 1.2 GHz quad-core powered by 1.5GB of RAM. 2,600mAh fuel the battery, and you’ll have 8 gigs of storage space (expandable up to 128GB). The budget-conscious cameras are 5 megapixels on the main shooter and 2 megapixels on the selfie snapper.

The device is noteworthy for its inclusion of an “Easy Mode,” making it plain that the Galaxy J3 is clearly targeted toward entry-level phone users. Easy Mode makes the interface simpler by reducing the number of icons and enlarging them, making it easier for lost users to find what they’re looking for.
