The recently announced dual-booting Samsung ATIV Q tablet/laptop has apparently been benchmarked with AnTuTu, obtaining a higher score than any Android device to date.

Reviewed by Taiwanese site ePrice, the ATIV Q has been put through the usual AnTuTu benchmark test, scoring a total of 54,861. That’s almost double what the Galaxy S4 scored in the same test (see our own AnTuTu benchmark comparison table below), and the ATIV Q leaves even Tegra 4-based devices behind (the NVIDIA Shield was clocked at over 32,000 in the same test). In case you were wondering, even the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, which we’ve seen benchmarked just recently (it scored over 35,000 in AnTuTu), was surpassed by the ATIV Q.

The ATIV Q was unveiled during Samsung’s June 20 media event in London, and in case you missed it, it’s a 13-inch Windows 8 laptop / Android tablet that’s ready to offer users the best of both worlds.

The ATIV Q offers some impressive specs for an Android tablet – although they’re probably there mainly for the Windows 8 laptop features – including a 1.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor (i5-4200U model, part of the Haswell family), Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4GB of RAM. However, the impressive AnTuTu score shows that Intel is ready to bring high-performance processors to mobile devices – not that we’re surprised, after all, this isn’t the first time Intel’s mobile CPUs managed to perform well in tests.

Other interesting specs and features of the ATIV Q include a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with 3200 x 1800 resolution (275 ppi), an S Pen stylus and the SideSync software that lets users share data between Windows and Android, or update Android devices directly from Windows. Switching between Windows and Android is apparently done seamlessly – there’s a special button for fast switching – with Android apparently running in virtual machine.

The ATIV Q still doesn’t have an official release date or price, so you’ll have to wait a while to get your hands on this dual-booting convertible laptop/tablet.
