PayPal Opens to Android

Developers can now integrate PayPal payments into their Android applications. PayPal’s Vice President of Platform, Mobile and New Ventures Osama Bedier said on Wednesday the PayPal Mobile Payments Library is now available for the Android, which is Google’s mobile operating system.

The Mobile Payments Library allows developers to add checkout functionality for donations, personal payments, physical goods and services sold through apps on the Android phone. PayPal recently announced the open beta of the Mobile Payments Library for the iPhone.

PayPal also launched the PayPal X Toolkit for Google App Engine (GAE), which is a platform for developing and running Web applications and services on Google Cloud. The toolkit helps developers securely incorporate payments in their applications and services built on GAE platform, allowing split payments (Parallel and Chained).
