Sometime you have to pay a lot to get a lot of use for a tablet. That’s what Panasonic thinks, anyway. The company’s well-known line of Toughbook rugged laptops and tablets has added a new Android model, the Toughpad FZ-A2, but it costs a whopping $2,189 for just the Wi-Fi only model.

For that amount of money, this tablet had better be able to take a lot of abuse. Panasonic says the Toughpad FZ-A2 has received MIL-STD-810G certification. That means it can keep working even with drops of up to five feet. It also has an IP65 rating for protection from dust and water. Its 10.1-inch display can be used with or without gloves and users can get signatures or other direct writing on the screen in direct sunlight or even in the rain.

Inside, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A2  has an Intel Atom x5-Z8550 processor running at 1.44 GHz, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It comes with  Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, along with an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera. Its battery life will last up to nine hours and, unlike most tablets, you can swap out the battery for a new one.

Obviously, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A2 is not made for the average Android fan. This tablet is designed for enterprises and businesses and the company offers a number of optional accessories for those customers, including a barcode reader and a Smart Card Reader for better security. However, if you want to have bragging rights for owning the toughest tablet in the neighborhood, and if you have a ton of cash, this tablet is made for you.
