Nova Launcher, one of the most popular third party Android launchers, has received a new beta version that packs in some rather interesting new features. The second beta for Nova 4.3 introduces a new Night Mode to automatically darken some screen elements in the evenings, and plenty of new configuration options for your Google search bar.

The main new feature with this beta is the introduction of Night Mode. Nova Launcher can now be configured to automatically switch the search bar, app drawer, and desktop folders over to a dark theme during the night. Night time can either follow your system time, be set to auto mode based on your location, or always on if you like the dark theme enough.

Beta2 also packs in a slew of customization options for your desktop search bar. Under Nova Settings, head to Desktop > Search Bar Style and you’ll find a selection of logo options that include the old and new look Google fonts, a widget color selector, and three bar styles to pick from.

This is not just a cosmetic update though, the beta also fixes one or two miscellaneous bugs as well. If you want to download it, you will need to be part of the beta testing program. After that you can either turn on beta updates in the regular Nova app or download the APK from here.
