While the Asus-made Google Nexus 7 is one of the most powerful and affordable 7-inch tablets on the market, up until now it has been lacking in one area: it was missing support for 3G. Today this all changes as the Nexus 7 32GB+3G is now available through Google Play.
From overall design to the internal hardware, the 3G version of the Nexus 7 is the exact same as the non-3G variants of the tablet, with the exception of mobile broadband support. That means you still get a 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor, an IPS LCD display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a front-facing 1.2MP camera, and 32GB of storage.
What truly makes the Nexus 7 32GB+3G exciting is that it will arrive totally unlocked with Jelly Bean and an empty SIM slot that will work with HSPA+ connections from over 200 GSM carriers across the globe. This might be a little disappointing for those that were looking for 4G LTE, but this will be a non-issue for the majority of global users that don’t yet have access to LTE speeds.
If you’ve been waiting off on getting the Nexus 7 in hopes of mobile broadband coming to the tablet, the time to buy has finally come. Best of all, the Nexus 7 32GB+3G is only $299.
