Nexus 10 bootloader unlocking directions already available

Google built the Nexus line of devices to simplify our lives and, to please the hacking community, they made rooting/unlocking procedures quite simple—this goes for the Nexus 10 as well.

The guys at Android Central have figured out the process needed to unlock the bootloader of the Nexus 10 and have included directions for anyone to replicate the method. In case you have never done this before, be very careful while rooting/unlocking because you could wreck your brand new tablet with a simple misstep.

The benefits of having a rooted/unlocked device, when done right, are basically limitless. Aside from having the ability to install custom ROMs, certain apps only work with rooted devices. Moreover, having a rooted device means you can uninstall any stock applications that you’d like to get rid off.

The downside of rooting/unlocking is that you will lose the data that’s currently stored on the device through the process, so either save your files before going through with it or perform such procedures as soon as you get the new device.

There you go, folks, if you happen to have a Nexus 10 in your hands right now, you can certainly get started with the process. Like anyone that has a rooted device can tell you, once you go rooted, you’ll never want to go back.
