Most of us feel that our expensive electronics should be taken care of in a neat, orderly manner that helps prevent drops and jolts from harming our precious goodies. For those of us that need a device that takes a beating though, the Fujitsu Stylistic M532 is here. Whether the M532 will find itself journeying with you to the deepest darkest jungles you explore, or merely into the hands of your young children- the military grade design is certainly up to the task.
The Fujitsu Stylistic M532 comes with a MIL-STD-810G rating, meaning that it can withstand some level of impact, shock, dust and water. Additional security features in this tablet includes tracking abilities via Absolute CompuTrace.
Durability aside, are the hardware specs up to the job? With a Tegra 3 quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, 32GB storage, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and microSD, this 10.1-inch IPS tablet might not be the bleeding-edge of hardware technology, but it’s no slouch either. It’s also worth noting that most of the Stylistic line runs on Windows 7, but this particular tablet is powered by Android 4.0 ICS.
The downside is that the M532 tablet is a bit on the expensive side, with prices starting at $549. While this thing might be able to take a heck of a lot more abuse than a third-generation iPad, it’s high price point might make it a little less desirable for those that don’t really need the military-grade strength of design.
For those that do need durability more than anything else, $549 is probably a much more reasonable price to pay than having to buy two or three ‘cheaper’ tablets over the course of a year or so, thanks to wear and tear.
