Another Android Marshmallow update is heading out to a set of Motorola handsets today. This time it is an Android 6.0.1 upgrade for the Moto G (3rd Gen) in India. This latest patch appears to basically be the same as the over-the-air update that arrived for the Moto X Play in the region just last week.

Moto G 3rd Gen Marshmallow updateThe update carries the version number v24.61.55 and weighs in at a not too hefty 371.4MB. Even so, it’s best to stick to a Wi-Fi connection before updating, so as not to eat up all of your data.

The Moto G (3rd Gen) already received an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in India and other regions earlier in the year. But now users can enjoy the latest batch of Unicode 8.0 emojis and a new camera shutter sound with Android 6.0.1. Motorola’s change log states that the latest update includes a number of stability improvements and there’s also the March Android security update bundled in with the download as well.

The update will be rolling out across India in phases, so just sit tight and wait for that OTA notification to arrive. If you’re itching to try out Android 6.0.1, you can always force a manual check through Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
