All eyes are on the upcoming LG G6, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only device the South Korean company will be releasing this quarter. The X300 is the company’s newest entry-level smartphone, and given its price tag and attractive design, it might be worth considering if you’re looking for a cheap smartphone in Korea.

On the front, we have the 5-inch 720p display and a 5-megapixel selfie camera, which – like other LG devices – support Auto Shot, a gesture-based photo-taking feature. LG says that the front glass is slightly convex for comfort and to give it an elegant look. Although it’s not clear from the picture just how curved the center of the glass is, my guess is it’s a subtle one.

The back has a 13-megapixel camera and a fingerprint sensor below it. The speaker is located at the bottom left corner, and the back cover has tiny patterns for a better grip, according to LG. The back cover is indeed user-removable, and inside you will find a 2,500 mAh battery. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 425, a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, coupled with 2GB of RAM. Although it looks like the only storage option available is 16GB, there is a microSD slot. Phew!

Overall, the LG X300 is a mix between old and new, it seems. While it will run Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, it still has a micro USB port for charging.

The device will be available from all three major carriers in Korea – T World, Olleh, and U+ – starting January 18th. The phone will set you back 253,000 won or around $215. LG hasn’t mentioned whether this phone will be available outside South Korea in the future, but we will be sure to keep you updated!
