Limited time offer: original Nexus 7 40% off at Groupon

Nexus 7 2012 Groupon

If you are in the market for an excellent 7-inch Android tablet, GroupOn has a limited time offer to get the original 32GB Nexus 7 for at least 40% off. The WiFi only version can be had for $149.99, while the unlocked, AT&T or T-Mobile compatible HSPA+ 3G model runs a mere $189.99.

Google launched the Nexus 7 in 2012 to great success. In fact, it was so popular that they could not keep it in stock for several months. It originally launched in WiFi-only 8GB and 16GB versions, later eliminating the 8GB and adding a 32GB model. Only the 32GB model was used for the 3G connected version that was later released.

The Nexus 7 was not just Google’s flagship device, it was the tablet that all tablets wished they could be. Built by Asus, the power and functionality of the Nexus 7 for the price range set a trend for affordable tablets. Thanks to it being powered by a Tegra 3 processor, Nvidia was able to use the tablet’s success to gain mass appeal for their TegraZone gaming and news application and website.

Obviously, you’ll want to look at the 2013 Nexus 7 if you desire the latest and greatest in hardware, but I would absolutely recommend the 2012 Nexus 7 to anyone. I say this with my own 2012 Nexus 7 at my side.

Check the Nexus 7 deal at GroupOn now, before the sale ends, or their limited quantities run out. Do your homework though; this is a great deal, but I suspect you’ll find similar pricing if you shop around.

Will you be grabbing one of these – will it be your first tablet purchase? Is it for you, or a gift for a loved one?
