Lenovo outed the IdeaTab A2107 back at the end of August, and similar to many product announcements — this came without any release date or pricing information. Lenovo did offer the specs, but that is where things stopped at the time. That being said, while we have yet to see any further announcements from Lenovo, it looks like the tablet has begun shipping.
Well, it has begun shipping in the US market. The Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 is priced at $149.99 and so far, has been spotted with two US retailers. The retailers include Adorama and B&H Photo. And if you happen to reading this from Canada, a product listing has been spotted with NCIX, however they have yet to make the tablet available for purchase.
The IdeaTab A2107 tablet is sporting a 7-inch (1024 x 600) display, 1.0GHz Cortex A9 processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The tablet is also noted as having a battery life of up to 10 hours.
At $149.99, the IdeaTab A2107 sounds like a solid deal. Of course, we also have what appears to be the proven standard for Android tablets, the Nexus 7. In this case, those willing (or able) to spend $200 will get a device with a higher resolution display, double the storage and a much nicer processor. Bottom line here, the IdeaTab A2107 looks like a solid option for those on a tight budget, but we may still be tempted to suggest a Nexus 7.
