We’ve known for a while now that Asus intends to bring Jelly Bean to the Transformer Pad Prime and Infinity, though no one knew how much longer we had to wait. We finally have news that the update is imminent. Asus sprung the news via its Facebook page – here are the exact words:

Hooray! We are pleased to announce that we will soon be rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for both the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) and ASUS Transformer Pad Prime (TF201). Watch this space.

So we have confirmation that the update is coming very soon, but no exact time frame was revealed. The good news is that the update has already made its way to Sweden, at least for the Transformer Prime. The Swedish announcement was also brought through Facebook and started rolling out immediately. This means there is still a strong possibility that the update could reach us today, or in the next few days, even if Asus didn’t officially tell us when we should expect it.

Don’t want to wait any longer for the official Jelly Bean rollout? There is always CyanogenMod 10 for those with the technical know-how to go ahead with the mod. Keep in mind that modding isn’t for everyone, and it might be a little silly at this point, with the official update close at hand.
