HP Slate 8 Pro, Slate 7 Extreme Android tablets available from HP and Best Buy

HP Slate X2 (8)

Two new HP Android tablets are available from Best Buy including the HP Slate 8 Pro and the Slate 7 Extreme, which retail for $329.99 and $199.99, respectively.

Despite being a relatively new player in the Android business, HP is not willing to give up on its mobile-related goals, launching two more tablets in addition to the 7-inch device that hit stores a few months ago. After all, not too long ago HP unveiled four new tablets: Slate 7 Extreme, Slate 7 HD, Slate 10 HD and Slate 8 Pro, so it’s about time we see some of them in stores.

The Slate 8 Pro packs an 8-inch display with 1600 x 1200 resolution, 1.8GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, microSD support, 8-megapixel camera, 720p front-facing camera, Beats Audio sound, 6580mAh battery and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box. The tablet measures 8.9 x 5.6 x 0.4 inches and weighs 1 pound.

The Slate 7 Extreme is a bit more expensive than the original Slate 7, but we’re still looking at a 7-inch device. The tablet has a display with 1280 x 800 resolution, 1.8GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, microSD support, 5-megapixel camera, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, NVIDIA PureAudio and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean running the show. The device measures 7.9 x 4.7 x 0.4 inches and weighs 11.4 ounces. As you can see, the Slate 7 Extreme is very similar to the NVIDIA Tegra Note 7-inch tablet concept.
