Delayed in the US from April to June, the HP Slate 7 is now available for pre-order on a French retailer’s website. Unfortunately, Europe won’t be getting earlier, either.
The HP Slate 7 is listed for pre-order on Rue Du Commerce, the price being the one already known for Europe, €149, while the estimated delivery date is June 1.
It’s really a shame that HP wasn’t able to bring the Slate 7 earlier to the market. Even with its lowkey set of specs, HP’s 7-inch tablet could prove an alternative to the Nexus 7, at least for some potential customers. After all, the device offers some extras compared to Google’s tablet, like a 3 megapixel main camera and a microSD slot (which you might be able to get for the Nexus 7 by contributing to a KickStarter campaign). At $169 in the US and €149 in Europe, the Slate 7 is also competitively priced.
