There’s more Marshmallow update news for Samsung customers today. This time the company has begun pushing out its Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to unlocked variants of the Galaxy S5 (model number SM-G900L) which are running on the LG UPlus network in South Korea.

According to SamMobile, the update focuses on bug fixes, stability improvements, and speed optimizations. There’s the usual assortment of new Marshmallow features too of course, including Google Now on Tap, Doze battery management, and configurable app permissions. Oddly there’s no mention of the latest TouchWiz interface that has appeared in Samsung’s more recent flagships that run Marshmallow. So this appears to be more of a functional update than an aesthetic one.

Samsung has also packed in the March Android security patch into the update, to help keep the phone secure from those pesky exploits. The March security update, sans Marshmallow, was also spotted in Europe earlier this month.

If you own a Galaxy S5 with the same SM-G900L model number, then you can always flash this firmware yourself or try to find it through Kies. Other Galaxy S5 customers will just have to sit tight knowing that Samsung is now starting to roll-out Marshmallow to its older flagships.
