Galaxy NotePRO, TabPRO prices revealed in Europe – here’s what you need to know

Galxy NotePro Galaxy TabPro 8.4 12.2 10.1

When Samsung announced its four new Pro Galaxy tablets at CES 2014, it conveniently forgot to mention pricing details for these devices. However, it looks like pricing details have been shared in Europe, so let’s take a look at how much the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2, TabPRO 12.2, TabPRO 10.1 and TabPRO 8.4 will cost.

So far, Samsung Netherlands and Samsung Finland have shared pricing details for these devices, or at least for a few of the models that will be available, although the tablets can’t be purchased at this time in the region. According to them prices start €389 for the 16GB Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 Wi-Fi version (in Netherlands) and go all the way up to €850 for the 32GB Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 Wi-Fi (in Finland) – although you should know the prices do not coincide, and not all LTE models (which should be more expensive) are priced).

Interestingly, an electronics retailer in Germany has listed prices for all the Pro models, including full prices but also on-contract offers for LTE versions, even though the tablets aren’t ready to ship yet. As you’ll see in the table below, Cyberport.de’s prices well above what Samsung Netherlands and Samsung Finland have listed in their press releases.

In addition to the numbers from Samsung Netherlands, Samsung Finland and Cyberport.de, we have included in the table below European price details as shared by Sam Mobile, a source that has provided accurate Samsung-related details in the past:

Samsung PRO tablets Full price Full price Full price On-contract Full price
32GB Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 Wi-Fi € 749 € 850 € 999 N/A € 789
32GB Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 LTE N/A N/A € 1,099 € 660 € 849
32GB Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 Wi-Fi € 649 € 750 € 900 N/A € 649
32GB Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 LTE N/A N/A € 1,000 € 560 € 749
16GB Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 Wi-Fi € 479 € 500 € 800 N/A N/A
16GB Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 LTE € 609 N/A € 900 € 460 N/A
16GB Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 Wi-Fi € 389 € 400 € 700 N/A € 389
16GB Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 LTE € 519 N/A € 800 € 360 € 519

There’s a reason we have not translated these prices in U.S. dollars: the Galaxy NotePRO and Galaxy TabPRO models will probably not be as expensive in the U.S. as the conversion will have you believe. To put things in perspective, we have instead listed pricing details for various other tablets that are available in Europe including Apple’s iPad Air (base model), the Retina iPad mini (base model) the 16GB Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition) and the Google Nexus 7 version (see table below). That way, you’ll be able to compare the prices Samsung is proposing for new tablets, compared to pricing for other devices available in the region. Keep in mind that Apple’s iPad pricing goes all the way up to €885 for the 128GB iPad Air or €795 for the 128GB Retina iPad mini, and that we didn’t list the cheaper, older iPad 2 and 2012 iPad mini in the table.

Other tablets in Europe
Official price
16GB iPad Air Wi-Fi € 489
16GB iPad Air LTE € 609
16GB iPad mini Wi-Fi € 399
16GB iPad mini LTE € 519
16GB Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) € 579
16GB Google Nexus 7 (2013) € 229
32GB Google Nexus 7 (2013) € 349

As for pre-order offers from various online retailers, such as the German retailer mentioned above, that may already begin listing the new tablets, we’d advise you to stay away from them and instead save your precious cash until Samsung is ready to unveil pricing details and actual availability details for the four tablets.

For what it’s worth though, considering that the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition) is very similar in terms of specs to the Galaxy TabPRO 10.1, we would expect these two devices to be somewhat similarly priced as well.

We’ll be back with more details about the launch of the Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO models in Europe and other markets once we have them, meanwhile don’t forget to check out our hands-on experience with the Pro tablets – see the playlist above.
