Galaxy Note ICS update coming to Rogers on July 21, Telus in late July

July is shaping up to be a good month for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note on Canadian carriers Telus Mobility and Rogers, specifically for those who have been waiting for the delectable Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.

Mobile Syrup has received a tip that Rogers will be rolling out the ICS update ahead of schedule. Initially, the update was pegged for a “late July” release, but an internal doc now indicates that it’s coming on July 21. Note that you’ll only be getting version 4.0.1 of the mobile OS, but at least it’s still an ice cream sandwich treat.

Thing are less rosy at Telus, who has just revised its ICS update timeline. Different from what we saw in the previous timeline, the ICS upgrade for the Galaxy Note has now been pushed back from July 13 to a decidedly more vague “late July”. The carrier said that this is due to “a slight delay in the submission of ICS for the Galaxy Note by Samsung.”

While we’re on the subject of ICS, here’s the revised timeline for the rest of the carrier’s Android devices:

  • HTC Desire HD is now expected to get ICS a week early on July 17
  • LG Optimus LTE may get ICS a month late on August 7
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 are expected to receive ICS in August

As always, chime in below if you see those elusive updates for your phones, phablets, and tablets.
