Regular readers might know that Samsung is planning to make August the Galaxy Note month. The Koreans are preparing an event on August 15, where they will unveil the “next Galaxy device” (if that sounds familiar, it’s because they used the same tagline for the Galaxy S3 launch), ostensibly the Galaxy Note 10.1. Moreover, on August 29, they will unveil the Galaxy Note 2 at the second Samsung Unpacked event of the year, set to take place in Berlin, before the official opening of the IFA exposition.

We already suspected that the August 15 New York event will be dedicated to the unveiling of the Galaxy Note 10.1, but yesterday we got a clue that all but confirms the release of Samsung’s new slate. The invitation for the New York event features prominently what looks to be a 10-inch tablet. Moreover, the graphics suggest the swipes and swirls that you would be to draw using a stylus.

Previously, there was some chatter about the New York event being dedicated to the launch of the Galaxy Note 2. Others thought that Samsung might go for a double launch of the Note 2, one in North America on August 15, and one in Europe on August 29. But it appears that Sammy decided to clear the unfounded speculations, which is something we always salute.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 has been available for pre-order for a while now from various retailers, including Negri Electronics, which claims to be shipping the device right now. Do you look forward to putting that stylus to good use on a 10.1-inch screen?
