You may remember we recently started a new app series called Under the Radar Apps. It’s where we pay our respects to an awesome app that we may have missed on the first pass. Our first app to earn that badge of honor was Swipe for Facebook, an excellent web wrapper for Facebook. For this weekend only you can pick up the Pro upgrade for Swipe at 50% off.
Swipe is offering the discount to celebrate becoming the #1 new paid app in Google Play. The $1.49 offer runs until July 10 so be hasty if you’re keen on enjoying the benefits of a Pro upgrade. What are they? I’m glad you asked: Material Design, eight more themes and plenty more customization options, notification filtering, Do Not Disturb mode, Power Saving mode and there’s apparently more in the works.
You can grab the discounted Swipe for Facebook via the install button below. Facebook has recently been shutting down its RSS feed so third-party app makers can’t deliver notifications. The company has also begun blocking these same apps from displaying messages so you’re forced to install Messenger. Swipe’s developer discovered workarounds to these issues, so both functions still work in Swipe.
What app do you use for Facebook? Do you think it’s unfair of Facebook to block messages in third-party apps?
