The ZTE Axon M looks like a concept phone come to life, but the reality of actually using ZTE’s dual-screened oddity doesn’t quite match the dream. Unlike the Axon 7, the Shenzhen-based firm’s no-nonsense, mid-tier crowd-pleaser from 2016, its sort-of successor is an entirely different beast with a unique, foldable design tailor-made for multitasking.

While the twin display set-up comes with a few inherent issues that we highlighted in our full review, the phone’s real bum note was its low price-performance ratio. When you’re paying over $700 for a device, it’s fair to expect top-tier specs and a smooth experience, but the Axon M doesn’t quite hit the mark here.

This may well be a small price to pay for users looking for a truly innovative device, but for the rest of us it’s a huge ask. But what if the Axon M was a lot cheaper?

If you’ve been on the fence due to the phone’s hefty asking price, now might well be the best time to jump in as you can currently pick up the Axon M for as little as $525. The deal comes from Best Buy, which is offering the AT&T-exclusive on a contract deal for $17.49 per month over a 30-month term.

This is down from $24.17 per month, representing an overall saving of around $200 over the course of the contract. If you’re looking to buy the phone outright for that price you’re out of luck, however, as Best Buy is still asking for the full $725 for just the handset.
