With Nexus 10’s availability hiccups apparently behind us, most people looking for a brand new 10-inch tablet probably can’t even take into account the “competition”. And we can’t blame you, as the N10 is truly an outstanding piece of mobile technology. Maybe even the best Android 10-incher ever.

But what if you still can’t score one of the “pure Google” tablets? Or you can’t afford the $400 starting price? Well, if you do have 300 bucks on hand and you’re not necessarily looking for a powerhouse, we have the perfect answer for your conundrum – GameStop’s discounted Asus Transformer Pad TF300T.

The 10-incher is nearing its one-year anniversary, and, while that’s usually an eternity in the Android décor, the TF300T doesn’t exactly look its age. The 1,280 x 800 pix res IPS LCD panel is still above par, the 1.2 GHz Tegra 3 CPU can hold its own even in long gaming sessions, while the 1 GB of RAM, 8 MP/1.2 MP dual cameras and 22 Wh battery are all very decent specs for an upper mid-range slate.

Now, GameStop is listing the on sale TF300T as running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which we know could be a major deal breaker for some. However, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade is available for download here, so if you do get an ICS-flavored tab you can butter it in no time.

We should probably mention that the discounted version of the tablet going for $300 is equipped with 32 GB of on-board storage (and a microSD card slot). And if that’s still not enough to get you hooked, GameStop is also throwing in seven free games, including Grand Theft Auto 3 ($4.99 regularly) and Max Payne Mobile (worth $2.99).

As for the keyboard dock, that’s $150 via GameStop, but 51 bucks less on Amazon, so you can get that too and end up with a $400 tablet-cum-laptop hybrid with 32 GB of internal memory. Not too shabby, don’t you think?
