While not all Kickstarter projects have their happy ending, we should give some props to the developers of Chameleon for keeping users abreast on the latest of their awesome Android launcher. The team has also done a commendable job in meeting the targeted release date of the app. To return the goodwill of early backers and supporters, those who have pledged their support will get to test out the beta version of Chameleon really soon.

The beta release of the app was announced on their Kickstarter webpage. According to the Chameleon team, the app will be available to download on Google Play Store in early August. We’re not sure how they plan to roll it out, but pre-order customers need not worry, as a detailed instruction will be e-mailed directly to you in the coming weeks.

The dev also took the time to showcase Chameleon running beautifully on a Google Nexus 7. Check the embedded videos above for the complete action. We have to say the demo looks pretty sweet and makes the 7-inch tablet an even more attractive purchase.

If you missed the Chameleon boat on Kickstarter, you can still pre-order the app launcher on the developer’s website right here. You just have to shell out $10.
