Best Buy to release Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Student Edition, comes with free keyboard dock and USB adapter

For those who are still undecided on how to best spend their hard-earned cash, Best Buy has a sweet deal on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. The retailer is preparing a special student edition of the tablet with some bonuses thrown in.

The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 student edition is bundled with a keyboard dock and an USB connector. From the picture, it seems the QWERTY keyboard only works when the tablet is in portrait mode. It’ll also have several Android function keys. The USB connector, meanwhile, should come handy if you want to connect different peripherals to the Tab.

The bundled Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 comes at the same $250 price as the regular version. And apart from the bonus accessories, nothing else is different specs-wise. The 7-inch WSVGA tablet still boasts a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 3MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

We know that you can get the 16GB Nexus 7 tablet for the same price, but horses for courses and all that. Some may find the lack of expandable storage option on the Nexus 7 to be a deal breaker, so this is at least one area where the Tab 2 7.0 shines. As noted by Engadget, the special edition Tab will hit Best Buy stores on August 19. So there’s still plenty of time to weigh your decision.
