Arm Chief Discusses Tablet PCs

The head of the company whose chip designs are running the iPad has cautioned it is “too early to tell” whether tablet PCs will be a big part of the market for mobile devices, despite Apple’s initial success.

“It’s an interesting market. What we have to be very careful of is projecting just how big that particular part of the market is going to be, because it’s very early days since any of these tablets have been on the market,” Tudor Brown, president of UK-based technology group Arm, told the Financial Times at the Computex trade show in Taiwan.
