Archos Arnova 8b G2 Tablet is a-OK

Admittedly, there are a lot of people who are unfamiliar Archos’ Arnova tablet lineage. But even though, we believe we are putting things at a fair game here, especially since this line comes cheaper than the price of the (already) cheap main series of Android tablets. So when the company announced the latest member of its Arnova family, we did not stop to re-consider if it would be a good topic to talk about; as we’re sure someone somewhere is looking for a starter tablet that won’t cost him an arm and leg.

The latest entry to this lineage is the Arnova 8b G2, which is only a slight update to the previous Arnova 8 G2. The specs of the new tablet include 800×600 LCD screen, 512MB RAM, front-facing camera, microphone and other typical features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and support for MicroSD card. The tablet currently runs on Gingerbread and is powered by 1GHz CPU. It also comes in either 4GB or 8GB storage space availability. Seeing as to how low the specs of the device is, seeing an Android 4.0 update may not happen anytime soon.

With regard to its release price and date, it should be around $180 and will most likely be distributed first in France and other parts of Europe. A specific release date has not been mentioned, unfortunately.
