Another set of Asus PadFone 2 hands-on videos show how the new PadFone Station works

Asus PadFone 2

Last weekend Android Authority reported on leaked promotional pictures of the Asus PadFone 2 and the PadFone Station. We also showed a brief video that had a closer look at the device. Now we have two new videos that give a more hands-on look at the PadFone and the docking station.

In the first video, a demonstration shows a movie preview being played while the phone is docked. The phone is then removed, yet the preview continues playing uninterrupted. This helps to illustrate how quick and easily the phone now slides out, making the transition from tablet to smartphone completely painless.

The second video isn’t as close-up, but again talks about the new docking connector. The primary focus in this short video is about how the PadFone Station doesn’t use a door or hinge when converting to a tablet. The demonstrator even shook the device to show that the smartphone won’t pop out with the new design.

Aside from a bigger screen and the doorless tablet dock, the Asus PadFone 2 might not look that much different from the original version at first glance. While Asus didn’t deviate far from the first model when it comes to looks, it wasn’t afraid to change up the hardware inside. The PadFone 2 is powered by a  1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro and features 2GB of RAM. It also boasts a 4.7-inch screen on the smartphone, 13MP rear cam, a 1.2MP front cam and a 2,100 mAh battery.

At the moment, the hardware specs sound great, but keep in mind that they aren’t yet confirmed. The good news is that we only have one more day until the official launch event for the PadFone 2, so we will know more soon enough.
