Android Authority On Air – Episode 26 – CES 2013 Recap

Android Authority on AirLast week the Android Authority Team traveled far, some really far, to attend the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. We attended sessions, events, had interviews, meetings, and plenty of hands-on time with all sorts of new Android devices. We even drank an adult beverage or two…or twelve. There’s a lot of talk around the Internet about how CES was a disappointment this year. It couldn’t have been all that bad with over 150, 000 attendees, right?

So what did we learn? Well, for starters, I’m horrible at one on one interviews, having to talk about products I know nothing about. Which is surprising as I’m a great bullshitter. At least when I know what I’m talking about at that is. Oh well, this was my first time doing this, I can only get better, right?

We also saw plenty of high quality Android devices. Vizio plans on releasing a Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 competitor that runs stock Android. ZTE and Huawei rocked the show with the thinnest and largest smartphones to date. Sony, in my opinion, nearly stole the smartphone show with their latest Xperia devices. NVIDIA announced a game console that runs Android and does a whole lot more along with Tegra 4. Samsung kinda, sorta announced a flexible screen, or at least a screen that was flexed inside a case. And last, but not least, we saw a handful of new Google TV devices show up in both set top box and TV form.

If you’re curious about any of the devices we talked about on the show, be sure to checkout our YouTube Channel. We have reviews for nearly every device we mentioned as well as plenty of versus videos to help you decide if any of these new Android goodies are for you.
