Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD to land in Europe in March, Evo 7 HD coming in June

There’s nothing more refreshing than seeing a new face stealing the spotlight from the usual suspects at one of the world’s biggest tech-related trade shows. And while we wouldn’t go so far as to call Alcatel the biggest star of CES 2013 (apparently, that was Sony), the French electronics company certainly got more media attention in the last week than it did in the past couple of years.

And rightfully so, as the One Touch series of phones and tablets got some major reinforcements, both in terms of quality and in quantity. There were no less than 10 new devices shown off in Vegas, with the Full HD Scribe X phone and Evo 7 HD tab impressing the most.

The thing is most people weren’t so keen to acknowledge Alcatel’s amazing efforts thinking what we all do when we hear of a company that’s not exactly a household name in the industry, or, in this particular case, not a household name anymore. And that was the gadgets introduced in Vegas would get lost in their way to the market or simply wouldn’t get a very wide global launch.

But we should have no more of that starting today, because Alcatel has reportedly confirmed and pinpointed three European releases. According to Phone Arena’s sources, the One Touch Scribe HD will see daylight on the old continent sometime in March, while the OT M’Pop will land about a month later.

The M’Pop is actually a phone we somehow missed during CES, having a spec sheet which includes a 4-inch WVGA screen, a single-core 1 GHz CPU, 512 MB of RAM, a 5 MP camera and Android 4.1.

As for the One Touch Evo 7 HD, that’s supposed to hit Europe in “early June”, also according to sources in the know. No words on pricing points and also nothing about the releases of all the other new Alcatel devices, but get this – several gadgets are headed to the States, too.

As a matter of fact, the entire Scribe series is supposed to visit America in Q3 (sometime between July and September, that is), while the M’Pop has been confirmed for a release, but doesn’t have any sort of ETA at the moment. We have no way to know if the phones will be up for grabs in both unlocked and subsidized versions (probably not even Alcatel knows yet), but let’s wait and see, shall we?

Meanwhile, we’re dying to know – is anyone thinking of getting an Alcatel gadget in the near future? Or would you still rather stick with the more familiar names?
