Acer’s quad-core Iconia Tab A110 now up on Amazon, 7-inch Jelly Bean tablet for $230

Perfect as the Nexus 7 is for some, those who long for a slate that has a microSD slot and a micro HDMI port have no choice but to look elsewhere. If you don’t want to spend more than $250 on your next 7-inch tablet purchase, the Acer Iconia Tab A110 is a worthy candidate.

As scheduled, Acer has started selling its Iconia Tab A110 tablet in the US. You can get the quad-core tab on Amazon for just $230.

Given that the tab is powered by a 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, we know what you’re thinking. What’s the catch? Your skepticism isn’t entirely unfounded. If you’re used to a tablet life on the HD display highway, you won’t be too happy to hear that the Acer Tab A110 only comes with a paltry 1,024 x 600 resolution.

The rest of the specs are pretty standard, as the tablet features 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and 2MP camera on the front.

If you don’t mind the low-res display, and absolutely need that expandable storage on your tablet, going with the Tab A110 isn’t a bad choice to make – especially at $230.
