Acer Iconia Tab A700 starts shipping in the US, only silver model available for now

Just 10 days after putting it up for pre-order, Acer has already started shipping the new 10-inch Iconia Tab A700. The quad-core tablet looks pretty awesome on paper and comes with one of the best quality-price ratios we’ve seen in a while, so you should hurry up and buy it if you fancy an Android-based slate with a lot of oomph and the best possible display around.

The Iconia Tab A700 is not exactly a visually impressive tablet, as its design is identical to the one of Acer’s A510. If, however, you’ll look past the appearance and into the gadget’s core, you’ll find a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, the running of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and dual 5 MP/1 MP cameras.

The battery should itself be more than satisfying, being expected to go for a full ten hours between charges based on regular use. Finally, the display is the icing on the new tablet’s cake, measuring 10.1-inches in diagonal and featuring a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution that is currently the highest standard for an Android-based tablet.

So why is the Iconia Tab A700 available for a low price? Honestly, we don’t know, but we can’t say we care very much either, as long as we can grab it and make use of that snappy hardware.

The Tab A700 can be picked up right now from Acer’s official US online store and, aside from all of the cool tech specs and features, you can also get free overnight shipping if you stop wasting time. Unfortunately, the silver model is the only one available right now, with the black version of the 10-incher being currently listed as “out of stock”.

Before making the decision to either go for the 10-incher or pass on it, you should also know that the Wi-Fi only model, currently up for sale, will be followed shortly by a 3G version and a 4G LTE-enabled one.

Are you going to grab an Acer Iconia Tab A700 anytime soon? Do you think it will actually provide the bang for the buck we’re speculating right now? Is there any other Android-based tablet around with a better quality-price ratio, as far as you’re concerned? Let us know down below!
