Update (4/8):  Lenovo has now officially announced North America availability for the A7-50, A8 and A10. The A7 will set users back $129, A8 will price at $179 and $249 for the A10. All three models are expected to ship this May.

(4/1) While most of the ‘news’ coming our way from major tech companies today is in honor of April Fools day and the pranks that come with it, there are at least a few legitimate announcements to be found — as is the case with Lenovo.

The Chinese-based PC giant has now unveiled four new Android tablets, bringing a refresh to its A-series slates, dubbed the A7-30, A7-50, A8 and A10. While all four tablets are budget devices, there are at least a few key differences between them.

On the lowest end of the scale is the A7-30, which will feature a 7-inch display with an unspecified quad-core CPU, alongside Dolby-enhanced specs and a built-in SIM slot. Next up is the A7-50 which offers an MT8382 quad-core 1.3GHz (possibly the same as the A7-30), 8GB storage, a 3500 mAh battery, a 2MP main cam, a VGA front cam, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi b/g/n, a 7-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, and an optional 3G variant.

The A8 and A10 are at the top of the scale and largely offer the same overall specs, expect the A10 has a larger screen and battery. Both tablets are powered by a 1.3GHz MTK 8121 or MTK 8382 (both options will exist). Other specs include a 5MP rear cam, 2MP front cam, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, WiFi b/g/n, and 3G variants. The A8 offers an 8-inch display with a 1280×800 resolution and a 4,200 mAh battery. In contrast, the A10 has a 10-inch display with a 1280×800 resolution and a heftier 6340 mAh battery.

None of these tablets are going to blow anyone away, but the pricing isn’t half bad. The A7-50 is said to start from £99.99 ($166) in the UK, with the A8 at £139.99 ($233) and the A10 priced at £169.99 ($283). All four models are expected to arrive sometime in Q2 to select markets. Currently it’s unclear if or when these tablets will make their way over to the North American market, but if they do we imagine they might be priced even a little lower.
