ChefTap is a unique app that does things a little differently. Its claim to fame is that you can share any English language website to ChefTap and ChefTap will parse the recipe from the site and then save it in your archives for future use. Some of the other features include recipe scaling (so you can make more or less if you want to), a built-in shopping list that adds ingredients based on which recipes you use, and more. A free account lets you save up to 100 recipes while the full version removes all restrictions. The full version costs $19.99 per year.

Food Network in the Kitchen has been around for ages and is one of the few cooking apps that can name drop celebrities. The app boasts thousands of recipes and most of them are from their lineup of celebrity chefs. It gives you the option to add recipes to your favorites, write up and store your own recipes, and there is a grocery list built-in if you need it. The claim to fame for this one is that it features a ton of recipe videos that are of higher quality than most. There is also a unit converter, multiple cooking timers, and a section to take notes. It’s surprisingly powerful for an app based off of a television network. It’s completely free to use with the only caveat is that the videos can only be played in the United States.

My CookBook

My CookBook is a recipe management app that allows you to save and store your recipes for future use. It contains a search engine where you can find new recipes which can easily be saved on your list or you can import your own from your cookbooks at home. It also includes a shopping list, Dropbox support, recipe scaling for larger or smaller meals, and there is a speech feature that will read you the ingredients and instructions. There is also Android Wear support if you need that. The free version is fairly functional with the pro version removing various limitations.

Pinterest and cooking have gone hand in hand almost since the site’s inception. Along with all kinds of other crazy stuff, you can find an exorbitant number of recipes on Pinterest. Generally, you just need to search for the various keywords or hashtags and you can save recipes by pinning them to your profile for later recall. It doesn’t have a lot of the added stuff that other cooking apps have, but it’s a great way to find some unique stuff. We may not recommend you solely use Pinterest, but using it in conjunction with another app (especially ChefTap) can improve your recipe collection by a pretty wide margin.
